When to use it
Choose a direction. Before delivery starts.
Design Sprint: Day 1 is for product, design and cross-functional teams with a meaningful challenge but no agreed direction. Use it at the beginning of discovery, before a prototype, or when several plausible approaches are competing for attention.
Bring the people who understand the user, the constraints and the decision. The process creates space for evidence and range before asking the group to choose. It does not treat the first confident solution as a plan.
