When to use it

- A Lightning Decision Jam, often shortened to LDJ, is a timed decision making workshop: collect problems, vote privately, reframe the chosen issue as How Might We questions, then compare actions by impact and effort. AJ&Smart created the original method. Clarvelo runs an 80-minute version so the team also has time to pick a realistic next move.
- Can we run a Lightning Decision Jam remotely?
- Yes. Participants join with a link and contribute from their own devices, so the format works for remote, hybrid and same-room teams. You do not need a Miro board or a downloadable template.
- Do we need a Miro template?
- No. Bring the decision area and recent examples. Clarvelo provides the activities, prompts, timeboxes and voting flow.
- Why does this version take 80 minutes?
- Shorter Lightning Decision Jams often stop after choosing and reframing a problem. This format also gives the team time to develop possible actions and compare them by impact and effort.
- Does the workshop make the final decision?
- It produces a clear, documented direction. Decide before the session whether the group can commit to that direction or whether a named decision-maker will confirm it afterward.
