When to use it
When the team needs a useful reset, not a longer meeting.
Rapid Retro is for engineering, product and delivery teams reviewing a sprint, release, incident follow-up or difficult patch of work. It gives the conversation enough structure to be candid without turning it into a tribunal or a therapy session with sticky notes.
Use it when familiar problems keep resurfacing, when the loudest view tends to win, or when previous retros produced a handsome board and no observable change. The format makes room for individual reflection, fair prioritisation and practical follow-through.
